The Daybell property in Salem, Idaho. October 2020.

What a week for court nerds! On top of a mountain of deadlines, I found myself keeping tabs on three different court proceedings all at once — the opening days of the Trump hush money trial, the Supreme Court deliberations of Grants Pass v. Johnson and, of course, the Chad Daybell trial.

The Daybell trial won my attention for obvious reasons. And this week — finally! — we gained long-awaited insight about the inner workings of the Daybell household.

For years, I’ve thought the brick Daybell house contained essential information about not just Chad Daybell, but his children and his late wife, Tammy.
