A short, two-part note from me today:
First: an honest-to-goodness, hand-on-my-heart thank you to everyone who has subscribed to this newsletter since my last dispatch. I am blown away by the kindness that I received after people read “All Bets Are Off,” and feel like I really made the right decision in starting this newsletter after … well … years of convincing myself not to. I am brainstorming new features, dispatches and offerings for those of you who have decided to go the route of a paid subscription. But I also want to hear your ideas for things you’d like to see in this space. So if you have one, feel free to leave a comment, or get ahold of me (you can fill out the contact form over on my site). Your hard-earned dollars will never, ever go to waste with me, and have already contributed so much to future reporting projects. You should see how many public records requests I made in January!
There’s a new episode of Two Minutes Past Nine out today: episode #11: Insurrection. Producer Georgia Catt and I get into the events of January 6, but we also try to spell out what that event means for extremist recruitment. As usual, I hope you listen, but I also hope it serves as a tool for any of you struggling to have a tough conversation with your loved ones.
More from me soon.
Leah
